Best Food That is Part of the Diet to Lower  Cholesterol Man has three basic needs...Food, Clothing and Shelter. Food as we see comes first! To sustain in life and perform your everyday duties to keep you going food is the most essential of all. Food gives you energy to live and perform However the intake of food depends from person to  person.

Some can make up to three or four trips to the buffet table while others are satisfied after one  round. Besides every person has their own personal  preferences regarding food. Some prefer a healthy diet while others prefer harmful oil rich food.

We must keep in mind that those who love to eat red  meat and other dishes that are fatty or oily are more  on the danger zone of falling sick. In some cases it  could get worse than a normal diarrhea...At  times  life threatening due to high cholesterol intake within the body.

In today's fast pace life one can really not avoid  eating out completely. Here's when one enters the risk zone. These restaurants and eateries offer us food  cooked in improper oil, unhygienic conditions and high in cholesterol. This has resulted in more and more cases of high cholesterol levels popping up.

The only way to avoid getting affected is by eating foods that are not high in saturated fats and avoiding those that are.

Is there any one food product that can be called the  best to lower cholesterol? The answer is no

This is because a well balanced diet must come from  all the food groups.

Here are some tips one can follow to keep oneself in  check and control the cholesterol level of the body:

1. Instead of drinking full cream milk or mixing this  with cornflakes or whole grain, it is best to use non  fat milk instead. The taste is almost the same and it  is much healthier than the regular brand bought  in  the supermarket.

2.Instead of having steak at a cookout or a picnic, have lean meats. These things don’t have that much fat in  the center or in the edges and taste just as good as  the big slab served with mash potatoes.

3.The healthiest thing to have either for lunch and  dinner is seafood. This can be fish or shellfish that is known to carry  Omega 3, and is high in protein. Seafood is very  effective in lowering the levels of cholesterol in the body.

4. Avoid sweet dishes, chocolates, candy bars and  cakes. They surely do tempt you but they're highly  rich in fat. If you need a quick snack have nuts and  fruits instead they are rich in fiber as well as  vitamins and minerals that are much more healthier to  consume.

5. Every healthy meal must be accompanied by fruits. Also a salad works best or having a few carrots, peas  or potatoes as a side dish would also do. But this  balance in diet is required along with your main  course especially if it includes non-vegetarian food.

Talking about non-vegetarian food, the effect it will  have on your body depends on the way it is prepared.  For example fried chicken is more harmful than a  boiled one. Avoid cooking chicken with it's skin on,  steam it before serving on the plate, it's a healthier way of cooking.

If you need a little help regarding healthy cooking  refer to some cook books or download some recipes from the Internet. You will surely be able to come up with  something delicious which can also help lower one’s  cholesterol level.

You can also catch up on some of the cooking shows on television that teach homemakers and other people the basics of cooking fat free food which is good for the diet.

Time does not stand still but it is never too late to make some lifestyle and food habit changes in order to live a longer and healthier life. So take your action right away and stay fit!
