We've all heard of the common saying "Eat Right Stay  Fit!”. You have to eat right in order to stay healthy. Because if you don't have a correct balance of  nutrients in your body it will be impossible to keep  it healthy, fit and running. Food acts as a fuel to  your body...it helps you get the energy required to  perform daily tasks and keeps you going.However, remember that too much food is not good for  you and not enough of the right food can be harmful to your health.

Here are some tips to help you choose the right diet  for yourself:

Proper Iron Intake:

The body needs a proper balance of iron intake. Too  much iron however may be harmful.

Fruits and vegetables are an excellent source of iron but again not too much because the fruit will turn into sugar and that’s not good for you. It may give you gibes and raise your cholesterol level if your not careful. This can lead to harden arteries, which can lead to  strokes or heart attacks. So always watch what you are eating.

Identify Your Diet:

Be inquisitive. Find out whether you are eating the  right stuff. Visit your doctor and tell him you need  to go on a diet. Your doctor will identify and plan the perfect diet chart for you depending on your weight.Your doctor will advice you what to eat and what to  avoid, what exercises to incorporate in your daily  life, how to burn your calories so that you don't end
up generating fat and sugar in your body.

There are 4 food groups that one needs to keep in mind  namely:

(1) meats, poultry, fish, dry beans and peas, eggs,  and nuts;

(2) dairy products, such as milk, cheese, and yogurt;

(3) grains; and

(4) fruits and vegetables

One should always try and incorporate a balanced diet  from the four groups mentioned above in quantities  that suit you best. Do not over eat.
Take the help and guidance of your family doctor while planning your diet chart. Learn to count your calories and weigh your food.Visit a nutritionist or go to your local hospital for  guidance. Join a diet group...a group of people  interested in dieting juts like you. At these group  meetings, you will meet people with the same problems  you have and you can give each other the support.

When it comes to dieting set an achievable goal for  yourself. Otherwise it can end being more harmful than useful. Start out a little at a time and then as you get  better you can modify your plan accordingly. In  addition, what ever you do try to stick to it, it  takes will power and control.

Learn more about yourself...Basically your will power because only this can take you beyond your abilities, which means you will have a healthy aging in the future.Remember your will power will help you stick to your diet plan and achieve your goal.
